Justin Thomas has missed the cut in two of his last three professional starts and faded his last Sunday in contention, but bettors are counting on a rebound from the No. 3-ranked golfer in the world.
Thomas tees off Thursday at the WGC-Workday Championship in Florida at 20-1 to win the tournament at PointsBet, where he’s received more bets than any other golfer in the field and the second most money wagered.
According to data released by PointsBet, 8.5% of all bets placed on the outright market are on Thomas to win. He’s taken 11.2% of total handle — or money wagered — on the tournament, second to only Joaquin Niemann.

Thomas hasn’t won since August of 2020, but that was another World Golf Championship event — the FedEx St. Jude Invitational.
Most of the money has come in on Niemann at 50-1 odds. He’s taken the third-most bets, behind just Thomas and Tony Finau. Finau is coming off another heart-breaking second-place finish, this time to Max Homa at the Genesis Invitational. Finau is up to the 13th-ranked golfer in the world and enters the week at 25-1 to win.
Tyrrell Hatton is popular this week. He hasn’t played on the PGA Tour since the RSM Classic, when he finished T-23, but he won the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship in late January on the European Tour where he’s a regular. He’s attracted the fourth-most bets and money.
Bryson DeChambeau, fresh off a missed cut at the Genesis, has attracted the fifth-most bets; Xander Schauffele is fifth in total handle.
Matthew Fitzpatrick (66-1) is third in handle. Should he win, one bettor would net $130,000, the biggest potential payout at PointsBet. That’s on a $2,000 bet.
That’s not the only potential six-figure payout on Fitzpatrick. Another bettor wagered $2,000 on him at 50-1 odds, good for $100,000. The other golfer with a potential $100,000 payout is on Niemann.
