Updated Fantasy Rankings for Marvin Hall, Browns: Don’t Start New Cleveland Receivers

With the top four receivers missing for the Cleveland Browns, you’re tempted to grab someone like Marvin Hall and throw him into your lineup as a team’s top option in a flex spot.

One word advice: Don’t.

Jarvis Landry, Rashard Higgins, Donovan Peoples-Jones and KhaDarel Hodge are all out on the COVID-19/Restricted list, as they’re considered high-risk close contacts. That’s forced the Browns to bring in last-minute reinforcements from the practice squad for Sunday’s game against the New York Jets.

Insert Hall, Ja’Marcus Bradley and Derrick Willies.

Just because the Browns are putting them into their lineup doesn’t mean you should.

Hall, spending most of the year with the Detroit Lions, has 17 catches for 290 yards, with his most notable performance coming in Week 7. Hall caught four passes for 113 yards, with most of the yardage coming via a 73-yard catch.

The consensus rankings among our experts is No. 49 for Hall, so yes, in a very deep league he may have to be an option. Otherwise, it’s probably better to look elsewhere.

The pass catcher who does receive good news from this is tight end Austin Hooper. He is No. 4 in Matthew Freedman’s rankings and No. 11 consensus. Hooper coming off a season-high five catches for 41 yards and a touchdown.

Both running backs are considered top-20 fantasy options this week. Nick Chubb is No. 7 on our board. Kareem Hunt sits at No. 20.
