We made it!  After almost two long weeks, we’ve finally reached Super Bowl weekend.

Following a flurry of early odds movement, Chiefs vs. Buccaneers lines have largely settled in. However, just because the odds have been quiet doesn’t mean that the action has.

In fact, a quick look at our NFL PRO Report shows that expert bettors have been loading up on the same sides of the Super Bowl spread and over/under since the matchup was posted.

Here’s a detailed look at Chiefs vs. Bucs value indicators, including how the top NFL bettors are playing both the spread and total for Super Bowl 55.

Super Bowl 55 Spread Pick

Let’s start by examining the big spread betting edge that experts have been pouncing on since Super Bowl odds opened almost two weeks ago.

Model Projection

Our betting model projects the Super Bowl spread at Chiefs -2.1, which is extremely significant considering the importance of 3 in NFL betting.

The Action Network’s NFL PRO Projections award Bucs +3 with a B-minus graded 4.1% betting edge.

And it’s not just the spread that’s attracting from smart NFL bettors — the under has been a popular wager for experts as well.

Big Bets

By breaking down Chiefs vs. Bucs betting splits, it’s pretty easy to see where the big money is landing.

Seventy-one percent of bets on the total have come in on the over, which is very predictable in the most popular betting event of the year.

Recreational bettors overwhelmingly root for points, especially in a game featuring Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady, and public money is clearly flowing on the over.

However, while the under has garnered just 29% of the bets, those tickets account for 50% of the money that’s been bet on the total.

This is a tell-tale sign that sportsbooks have seen bigger bets coming in on the under, so much so that the total has actually dropped from an opener of 57.5 to 56 (click here for the latest Super Bowl odds), confirming that money flooding the under has forced oddsmakers to react by dropping the total.
