The NC State baseball team has been ruled ineligible for the remainder of the College World Series after at least two of their players tested positive for the coronavirus this week.

The team had played against Vanderbilt on Friday with a heavily depleted roster after starting second baseman J.T. Jarrett and reliever Evan Justice were declared out because of coronavirus-related issues.

While NC State lost that game 3-1, there was a rematch scheduled for Saturday that would have decided which team made the tournament’s finals.

But, the Wolfpack were not allowed to suit up for that game due to virus concerns. ESPN reported that Jarrett is “no longer with the team,” while Justice is still in Omaha under quarantine.

DraftKings and Barstool Sportsbook have pledged to return all futures bets made on NC State. It was not immediately clear on Saturday exactly how many futures bets were refunded at each book.
