The race to the bottom of the NBA standings with a close one, and oddsmakers believe Cade Cunningham will be the top prize.

BetMGM released odds to be the first pick in the NBA Draft on Monday with the Oklahoma State star freshman the massive betting favorite at -500 to go No. 1.

Cunningham tops what appears to be a three-man race, judging by the early odds release. Gonzaga’s Jalen Suggs (+800) and USC big man Evan Mobley (+800) are the only other players with odds better than +1000 (bet $100 to profit $1000).

Cunningham’s freshman year lived up to expectations as he averaged 20.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game on 43.8 percent shooting. The Cowboys were a No. 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament, losing in the second round to Oregon State.

It was harder for Suggs to shine statistically on a loaded Gonzaga team, but his overall play was still impressive. He scored 14 points per game, along with 5 rebounds and 4 assists. His big-game moments in the NCAA Tournament, especially the Final Four win over UCLA, further established his place near the top of the draft class.

Mobley used USC’s five-game NCAA Tournament run to boost his stock as well. After averaging 16 points and 8 rebounds during the regular season, he turned in similar numbers during the tournament while also blocking 14 shots.

The next options on the board are both out of the NBA G-League in Jalen Green and Jonathan Kuminga.

The NBA Draft lottery will be held on June 22 in the midst of the combine, which takes place between June 21-27. The draft itself is scheduled for July 29.
