As of Friday night, the Los Angeles Rams have still yet to announce a starting quarterback for Saturday’s Wild Card Round matchup in Seattle.
Jared Goff missed last week’s game against the Arizona Cardinals with a thumb injury, and while reports have suggested he’s progressing well, his replacement — John Wolford — did perform serviceably in the 18-7 victory over Arizona in their regular-season finale.
But while Sean McVay may be waiting to make his official announcement, bettors aren’t waiting to make their pick.
In fact, this game has consisted of one of the most popular picks amongst our NFL experts this weekend, and displayed a significant difference between bets and money — an indication of sharp action — on the same side.

As has been the case in all six of this weekend’s games, the favorite is drawing the majority of bettors in this one, with Seattle taking the larger bite of the 58-42 percent split amongst the betting population. Yet, while the Rams may be losing the betting-ticket battle, they’re winning that of the actual money.
Los Angeles’ 42% backing has generated 52% of the cash distribution, and while that’s not a huge majority by any means, the discrepancy between the figures is a significant one, and suggests that bigger bettors — the ones more likely to be sharps — are betting the Rams.
