Adam Gase, New York Jets

Gase’s tenure with the Jets comes to a close, ironically after a surprising run of two wins in his last three games. The Jets were the laughing stock of the league under Gase’s watch, with quarterback Sam Darnold plateauing.

In the ultimate case of irony, Gase’s best accomplishment was losing, and he couldn’t even do that right, as the Jets won too many games for the top pick in the NFL draft.

Gase finished his two seasons in New York with a 9-23 record. The team announced the move on Sunday night.

Doug Marrone, Jacksonville Jaguars

With the No. 1 pick in next year’s draft, the Jaguars are overhauling the organization. That started with firing general manager Dave Caldwell and continues with parting ways with Marrone, which NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport says is likely.

Marrone coached the Jaguars for four full seasons, putting together a 23-43 record. The Jaguars made the AFC Championship in his first season, but the team never reached .500 after that.

Urban Meyer’s name is already being circulated in connection with the job and creating a pairing with potential top pick Trevor Lawrence.

Anthony Lynn, Los Angeles Chargers

According to Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer, Lynn will meet with ownership on Monday and a change is expected to be made. Lynn is expected to be fired with one year remaining on his deal after four seasons in charge.

The Chargers finished second in the AFC West in his first two years, but have finished with losing records in each of the last two years.

The Chargers should be an attractive vacancy with the way Justin Herbert played this season.

Raheem Morris, Atlanta Falcons

Morris replaced Dan Quinn mid-season as the interim and is not expected to return, Glazer said. The team will look for an offensive-minded coach.

Romeo Crennel, Houston Texans

The replacement for Bill O’Brien, Crennel will not return to the Texans.

Darrell Bevell, Detroit Lions

Matt Patricia was fired mid-season for the Lions. Bevell will not get the full-time job.
