The NBA’s version of the “Subway Series” continues on Monday night with the Knicks taking on the Nets in Brooklyn.

The Nets have won four straight games heading into Monday, with Kyrie Irving and James Harden playing excellent basketball in the absence of Kevin Durant. Brooklyn’s great offense has led to covers in three of its last four games, but the total went under in two of those four contests.

The Knicks sport one of the five best defenses in the league, allowing 108.6 points per 100 possessions under Tom Thibodeau per NBA Advanced Stats. New York plays hard every night and stuck around with Brooklyn the last time out, losing by seven points on Jan. 13.

In the first Nets-Knicks matchup, Durant played while Irving was out and Harden wasn’t officially a Net yet. Things are obviously a lot different now, with Harden playing like a darkhorse MVP candidate, Irving scoring in bunches, and Durant being the player currently out due to injury.

Brooklyn has also since acquired veteran forward Blake Griffin to round out a weak-to-average frontcourt rotation. Neither Griffin nor Durant will be available on Monday.

The Nets have shown that they can put up points no matter who is on the floor, but despite this our NBA PRO Report suggests that sharp bettors are taking the under in Brooklyn on Monday night.

Let’s take a look.
