Game 4 of the Nuggets-Trail Blazers series will be a fun one, simply because this series has provided so many surprising moments. Game 3 saw recent Denver pickup Austin Rivers go off for 21 points including a flurry of 3-pointers in the fourth quarter.

Rivers is close to the last person you would expect to help lead Denver to a pivotal playoff victory, and moments like this are what have made the 2021 postseason so uniquely exciting.

But as exciting as Rivers’ scoring outburst was, it is obviously unlikely that Michael Malone and Co. get another one of those games from him. And we’ve seen in this series that even with Nikola Jokic piling up points, Portland can pull off a win.

It’s the contributions of the Denver role players that have sunk the Trail Blazers.

But Damian Lillard has consistently been too good for the Denver defense. With Lillard putting up 37.7 points per game (PPG) against the Nuggets, there is little reason to believe Malone will find a way to slow him down.

The line for Nuggets-Trail Blazers started at -3.5 and then was swiftly pushed up as money started to come in on Portland.

Our latest PRO Report shows that while Denver looked solid on the road in Game 3, there is strong reason to believe Lillard and Co. can cover back at the Moda Center for Game 4.
