The Wizards came into their series against the 76ers with a clear talent disadvantage — less so because of the top of the roster and more so because of Philly’s third star and the excellent collection of role players available at Doc Rivers’ disposal.
Tobias Harris — who has rightfully earned the title as Philadelphia’s third star — has been an absolute thorn in the side of Washington head coach Scott Brooks.
Harris enters Monday night averaging 25.3 points per game (PPG) in this first-round series against Washington. His efficiency has been eye-popping in this series, as Harris is shooting 57.1% from the field and 45.5% from the 3-point line.
Brooks simply doesn’t have a wing-sized player on the roster to match up with Harris, leaving young big Rui Hachimura as the best option despite an obvious disadvantage in agility.
Washington has actually managed to look better than many expected, although it’s only managed to cover in Game 1 so far. The line for Game 3 has opened up at a high figure, as it has all series long.
Despite this, our latest PRO Report shows that sharp bettors are trusting the Sixers to pick up a no-frills sweep on Monday night.
