NBA Injury News

Joel Embiid is doubtful for Wednesday’s Game 5 as he continues to deal with a sore knee, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. He underwent an MRI on Tuesday and is expected to be evaluated further Wednesday. Mike Scott started in Embiid’s place in the second half of Monday’s loss with Dwight Howard remaining in a reserve role. The Sixers are also listing Seth Curry and George Hill as probable in advance of Game 5.

The Washington Wizards have cleared Russell Westbrook to play on Wednesday after listing him questionable. Westbrook has been dealing with a sprained ankle but has played through the injury in each of the past two games.

Davis Bertans has been ruled out for Game 5 — he underwent an MRI on his strained calf and will miss the next 4-to-6 weeks, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Bertans had started the prior two games, and now it’s possible for Raul Neto to return to the starting lineup.

De’Andre Hunter has been added to the injury report for the Atlanta Hawks with a sore right knee and is listed probable for Game 5 against the New York Knicks. He has started all four games of the series and is averaging 29.3 minutes per start.

Luka Doncic and Maxi Kleber are both listed probable ahead of Game 5 Los Angeles Clippers. After the Game 4 loss on Sunday, Doncic told reporters, “The pain is like neck and then the nerve down. I don’t really know how to explain that. It felt way better today morning than yesterday. I’ll just keep doing massages, ice it down and then be ready for Wednesday.” Kleber is still bothered by an Achilles injury but he has started each game of this series.

Serge Ibaka is officially considered doubtful ahead of Game 5 after missing the past two games with a lingering back injury. The Clippers opted to start Marcus Morris at the five with Ivica Zubac shifting to a reserve role. Nicolas Batum also entered the starting lineup and led the team with 36 minutes.
