Saturday’s NBA Injury News

The situation with Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets has created a new wrinkle for the NBA in its quest to control the spread of COVID-19 around the NBA. Durant was pulled from the starting lineup on Friday, then cleared to play in the middle of the first quarter before ultimately getting pulled again for good.

Per our NBA Insiders tool:

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Durant will not travel with the team to Philly in advance of Saturday’s game … He was held out due to COVID-19 health and safety protocols, and the NBA will now figure how long Durant needs to be in the protocols.

The Nets face the Philadelphia 76ers on the second night of a back-to-back Saturday and will likely need to fill Durant’s minutes with players like Bruce Brown and Jeff Green.

The Sixers have listed center Joel Embiid as questionable for Saturday’s game after he hyperextended his knee on Thursday. Ben Simmons is probable after sitting out their previous game and Seth Curry is questionable with an unspecified illness.

The Atlanta Hawks hope to get Trae Young back in the lineup after he sat out their previous matchup with a bruised calf. De’Andre Hunter is still sideline after he underwent a a non-surgical procedure on his knee last week.

Jamal Murray has been added to the injury report with a sore left knee and is questionable for Saturday’s game against the Sacramento Kings. The Nuggets are already thing at guard with Gary Harris out of the lineup.
