The Colorado Rockies head to San Francisco for the first game of a four-game set against the Giants on Thursday’s Major League Baseball card. Colorado had strung together four consecutive wins before back-to-back losses at the hands of the Houston Astros.
San Francisco has been on fire in the second half of the season, winning six of its last eight contests. Kris Bryant has been a worthwhile addition to the Giants roster. Over 12 games so far in August, Bryant is batting .308 with a .859 OPS.
Colorado’s pitching staff is top three in the league in quality starts and complete games, but little else. However, that durability can show up in important spots. The Rockies will have Germán Márquez on the mound.
Marquez has been great for the Rockies, posting a career-high three complete games en route to 10-8 record, along with a 3.42 ERA.
The Giants have more than enough offense to pose some serious problems for Márquez, and San Francisco pitcher Logan Webb (3.19 ERA) is no slouch himself.
