The Colorado Rockies and Chicago Cubs face off Tuesday at Wrigley Field. Chicago has lost three of its last five games. However, one of those wins came in its most recent matchup with the visiting side.
In the Cubs’ 6-4 victory over the Rockies on Monday, Chicago was carried to the finish line with a big-time walk-off home run from Rafael Ortega. Chicago’s six runs scored were the most runs they’ve put up in a game since an August 18 contest.
Even with the latest outburst, Chicago has gone under on the total in four of their its six games. Colorado has gone under in three of its last six games, but were on a three-game under streak prior to that stretch.
The hosts will have left-hander Justin Steele on the mound, while Germán Márquez is pitching for the Rockies. Márquez has been solid for Colorado, winning three of his last four starts, including only giving up three earned runs in a surprising win over the offensively potent San Diego Padres.
Steele has been great for the Cubs and has a nice 2.45 ERA at home. While no one is exactly expecting a big-time pitchers’ duel at Wrigley Field, all signs are pointing toward the total being a great play.
