It wasn’t the fight we expected, but it’s the fight we’ve got. Manny Pacquiao will fight Yordenis Ugas in a welterweight title fight on Saturday night from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Pacquiao was originally scheduled to fight Errol Spence Jr. before Spence had to withdraw because of a tear in his retina. Ugas was set to fight on Saturday’s card anyway, so this is not a quick turnaround for the Cuban.

Pacquiao hasn’t fought since 2019 and will have a size and reach disadvantage against Ugas, who rose through the amateur ranks and took bronze at the 2008 Olympics. But Pacquiao is still a big favorite, with the betting market giving him a greater than 70% chance to win on Saturday night.

Pacquiao will fight for the 72nd time in his storied professional career; he’ll turn 43 years old in December.
