The Chicago Bulls have acquired Lonzo Ball in a sign-and-trade deal with the New Orleans Pelicans, The Athletic reported on Monday.
The Pelicans will acquire Tomas Satoransky, Garrett Temple and a second-round pick in exchange for the former No. 2 overall pick.
Ball’s new contract will be for four years and is worth $85 million, The Athletic reported.
The Bulls’ odds to win their first NBA Championship since 1998 shortened slightly as a result of the news.
At DraftKings, their odds moved from 100/1 prior to the start of free agency to 80/1 after news that 6-foot-6 point guard was packing his bags for Chicago.

New Orleans’ odds remained at 80/1 at the sportsbook.
BetMGM had the Bulls’ line to win the Larry O’Brien Trophy at 125/1 prior to the start of free agency. Those odds are now 100/1.
In a corresponding move, the Pelicans’ odds at the sportsbook lengthened from +8000 to +10000.
And FanDuel moved Chicago’s line from 120/1 to 100/1. New Orleans’ odds stayed at 85/1.
The Miami Heat’s odds also shortened after news that they acquired Kyle Lowry in a sign-and-trade from the Toronto Raptors and re-signed Jimmy Butler and Duncan Robinson.
DraftKings did not change 2022 NBA Championship odds for any other team besides the Bulls and Heat. The Brooklyn Nets are still +200 favorites to win their first title while the Los Angeles Lakers are +400 after their acquisition of Russell Westbrook.
The Milwaukee Bucks are +950 to defend their trophy while the Warriors are +1000 with the impending return of Klay Thompson and the additions of lottery picks Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody.

At FanDuel, two other contenders’ odds changed on Monday night. The Philadelphia 76ers‘ line to win it all lengthened from +1600 to +1700 and the Atlanta Hawks‘ odds to do the same dropped from +3500 to +4000.
The Nets are +220 favorites, the Lakers are +440 second-best favorites and the Bucks are +850 third-best favorites to win the Larry O’Brien Trophy at FanDuel as of Monday night.
The Los Angeles Clippers, Warriors, Utah Jazz and Phoenix Suns are all currently tied at +1300 to bring home the silverware at the sportsbook.
