One of football’s favorite rivalries is back, with the Cowboys hosting the Eagles on Monday Night Football to cap off Week 3.
Both teams have shown some signs of progress through the first two weeks. Philadelphia dismantled Atlanta and lost narrowly to San Fransisco at home, while the Cowboys almost knocked off the Bucs on opening night then beat the Chargers on the road in Week 2.

Cowboys vs. Eagles Start Time
- Date: Monday, Sept. 23
- Time: 8:15 p.m. ET
Monday Night Football starts at 8:15 p.m. ET, five minutes earlier than its primetime counterparts on Thursday and Sunday. So if you’re a last-minute bettor, be sure to plan ahead at least a little bit.

The betting market sees these teams as nearly dead-even entering Week 3, with the Cowboys getting 2-3 points for home-field advantage. That means the Eagles would be a slight favorite at Lincoln Financial Field, and they’d be near a pick’em on a neutral site.
The total is a lofty 50.5, with both offenses projecting in the better half of the league.

It feels like ages ago that Eagles won the Super Bowl, as a whole new regime is now in place, for better or worse. New coach. New quarterback. New skill position players. Many of the veterans who helped with that ring gone or aging out.
But 2020 second-round pick Jalen Hurts is the guy now under center, and he’s been good — 7.8 yards per attempt, 67.5% completion percentage, and another 144 yards on the ground.
And Monday he’ll get a Cowboys defense that got shredded by the Bucs and ranked 24th in our preseason ratings.

Dak Prescott looks fully healthy, which is great news for Dallas fans and bettors. He was actually statistically more effective last week against the Chargers than he was in that primetime showdown against the Bucs in which he led a go-ahead drive late in the fourth quarter.
Despite giving up just 17 points to the Chargers last week, the Dallas defense still wasn’t great. It gave up 6.6 yards per play to Justin Herbert and Co. but came up with timely redzone stops and two key turnovers to preserve a gutsy win.
The NFC East is already a mess and we’re not done with Week 3. The Giants are 0-3; the Washington Football Team is 1-2 and lost starting quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick to injury. This is a good time for the Cowboys or Eagles to assert themselves as the pack leader in an always-up-for-grabs division.
