Well, this isn’t a spread we expected to be projecting. Oral Roberts shocked Ohio State to advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, where it will face Florida.

We project the Gators as a 10-point favorite, with the total at about 154 thanks to the Golden Eagles’ high-flying offense.

What To Know About Florida

Head coach Mike White welcomed the return of Tre Mann in the SEC Tournament, rebounding from consecutive losses that would have provided a double-bye in the tournament. It seems as if the Gators will go as far as Mann can take them. Florida does have a very efficient offense (especially in transition) when it actually takes care of the ball.

Turnovers have been a major pain point for the Gators this year. The perimeter defense is sound for a unit that applies extended pressure before dropping into a matchup zone. However, they are fairly vulnerable against teams that can clean up the offensive glass. Florida ranks 301st in the country in defensive rebounding rate.

Overall, the defense (and Tre Mann’s offense) has been fierce since the beginning of February and trending in the right direction after a few tweaks from coach Mike White. The Gators have fielded the best perimeter defense and ranked third in adjusted defensive efficiency in the SEC over the past five weeks of play. This team can make some noise if Mann is locked in and they avoid a disastrous matchup, but it feels like this team, which has no seniors, is a year away from a really deep run.. — Collin Wilson

What To Know About Oral Roberts

Oral Roberts is not known for its defense. In fact, this is probably the worst defense in the field from an advanced-metrics standpoint. The Golden Eagles are also extremely vulnerable on the glass on both ends. However, they have an absolutely explosive offense that ranks in the 98th percentile in the half-court, per Synergy.

ORU prefers to play fast, doesn’t turn it over, takes and makes a lot of 3s (38.8%) and is automatic from the free-throw line (82.6%).

Almost all of that firepower comes from two players who will play professionally in some capacity: Max Abmas and Kevin Obanor. Those two will try their best to put up a combined 70 points in the first round. I’m not sure how they could ever get enough stops to pull off an upset, but it will be fun to watch Abmas and Obanor try. — Stuckey
