The top of the AT&T Byron Nelson oddsboard saw a small shift on Monday following the news that Dustin Johnson was withdrawing from the event.
Johnson, who opened at 10-1 to win the tournament at both BetMGM and DraftKings, cited a lingering knee injury as his reason for not playing this week. It will give him another week off heading into the PGA Championship.
As a result, the top of the oddsboard has a slightly different look. Jon Rahm was already the betting favorite at BetMGM but was moved from +750 to +700 ahead of Bryson DeChambeau, who moved from +900 to +800.
DeChambeau is the favorite at DraftKings along with Rahm at +800, both down from their opening +1000 numbers. Also seeing some movement at DraftKings are Jordan Spieth (+1200 to +1100) and Daniel Berger (+1800 to +1700). Will Zalatoris is now +2600 after opening at +2800.
Spieth moved down a notch from +1100 to +1000 at BetMGM with Berger dropping two numbers from +1600 to +1400. Brooks Koepka and Matthew Fitzpatrick are now each +1800, down from +2000.
Johnson was struggling with results prior to his WD, at least by his standards. His last top-10 finish came back at the Genesis Open in February. He finished 13 strokes behind winner Justin Thomas at THE PLAYERS and missed the cut at the Masters as the defending champion. He finished T-48 at his last start two weeks ago in the Valspar Championship.
The Byron Nelson will be played at TPC Craig Ranch for the first time after the event was canceled in 2020. Sung Kang won the last event in 2019.
