You know the drill: Saturday and Sunday come around and social feeds are full of six-figure bets with even higher payouts, the kind most bettors can’t relate to. Huge parlays are open but need an unlikely longshot to hit, like this Lions bet last week.
The parlay that Blair Montgomery holds heading into Monday Night Football — while still unlikely when placed — feels a little more relatable.
Montgomery placed a $100, 12-team parlay that hit the first 11 legs on Sunday. It now needs the Dallas Cowboys to win outright as 3.5-point favorites over the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football.
The potential payout is $42,854.37 with a washout option of $18,955.64 at FanDuel.
There’s nothing crazy about this parlay. There’s no huge underdog that juiced up the price; the Saints are the biggest underdog play at +130. Four of the 12 picks were plus-money with the Rams coming in as a pick’em. Big upsets were avoided when the Baltimore Ravens escaped Detroit with a miracle win and the Arizona Cardinals shook off a slow start against the Jaguars to win in a big way.
If that makes it sound like picking winners is easy, it’s not. Twelve-team parlays are meant to lose. Sportsbooks across the country are paying the electric bill with torn up moneyline parlays. It always takes a lot of luck to dodge this many bullets.
Still, it’s easier to put yourself in Montgomery’s shoes than it is most of the big bets out there. Even the Lions parlay last week would’ve taken six figures to figure out some sort of hedge. This situation isn’t quite as complicated.
Montgomery can take the cashout now for nearly $20K. He can make a smaller hedge pre-game and look to live bet out of the Cowboys in the middle of the game. Or, as he hints on Twitter, he may just let it ride.

The Cowboys are still -176 on the moneyline at FanDuel. The Eagles are a +148 underdog.
