Can You Bet on Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley? Odds, Rules & Format for PPV Boxing Match

Jake Paul will make his return to the boxing ring when he fights former UFC star Tyron Woodley on Sunday night.

It’s been quite the year between the ropes for the Paul brothers, who have risen to fame over the last decade on social media and taken the boxing world by storm.

Jake’s brother Logan fought Floyd Mayweather to a draw in an unsanctioned fight in June. Jake knocked out former MMA fighter Ben Askren in the first round of an April fight, his first against an opponent with real combat experience. Woodley is a longtime teammate and friend of Askren, which setup this fight.

Now, Jake Paul turns his attention to the 39-year-old Woodley, who was the UFC welterweight champion just over two years ago and was once considered the best ever in his weight class. He lost his belt to Kamaru Usman in March of 2019, and dropped his next three fights before his contract expired earlier this year.

How Do I Bet Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley?

Paul vs. Woodley is sanctioned by Ohio’s boxing commission, so bets are allowed. That was not the case for Logan Paul vs. Floyd Mayweather, when the FSBC did not sanction the fight because of the difference in skill between the two fighters. No sanction, no bets.

Rules & Format

This cruiserweight fight will be fought at 190 pounds, which is technically a step up from Woodley’s UFC career. He fought at 170, though he probably weighs closer to 190 in real life, so it’s actually a slight benefit for him that he doesn’t have to cut much weight.

The rules for this bout will be pretty standard since its a sanctioned, bet-able fight:

  • Eight rounds
  • Fought at 190 pounds
  • 20×20 ring size
  • 10 ounce gloves

Our Picks

There’s a few ways to target this fight if you believe Woodley is truly a step up in class for Paul, who still hasn’t beaten anyone with a pulse in the boxing ring.

Erich Richter and Malik Smith broke down the fight below and suggest taking a look at:

  • Over 3.5 rounds
  • Fight to go to decision +600
  • Woodley by decision +2000
