The Ben Simmons trade saga has continued to drag on throughout the NBA offseason, seemingly with serious potential for the three-time All-Star to return to Philadelphia despite the apparent tension that exists between him, Joel Embiid, head coach Doc Rivers and the entire Sixers organization.
But news, like what broke on Tuesday, makes it seem all the more likely that Simmons starts the 2021-22 NBA season with another franchise.

On Tuesday, Keith Pompey of The Philly Inquirer reported that Simmons has formally requested a trade out of Philadelphia.
Most importantly, Pompey noted that Simmons intends to sit out of training camp, which begins on September 28. Last season Simmons averaged 14 points, 7 rebounds, and just under 7 assists per game for Philadelphia.
