Bad Beat Alert: Kent State Bettors Lose On Two Chip-Shot Field Goals vs. Texas A&M

Trusting a college kicker with money on the line can take years off your life. Kent State bettors learned that not once, but twice during Saturday’s opener against Texas A&M.

The Golden Flashes, getting anywhere from +29.5 to +31.5 points, trailed 41-10 late in the fourth, but caught a break after recovering a fumble in Aggies territory.

Following a three and out, the Golden Flashes lined up for a chip-shot field goal just 25 yards away.

Mind you, the Aggies just need to take the air out of the ball and run the clock out now. However, five plays into the next drive, A&M backup quarterback Zach Calzada threw a pick.

Six plays later, following a rush to the Aggies’ seven-yard line, Kent State called a timeout with three seconds left to get the field goal unit back out for a consolation prize — and cover.

This was a shorter attempt from placekicker Andrew Glass, who, at this point, is kicking in a half-empty stadium.

Kent State bettors, you do not deserve this.

Pure agony.
