The Arizona Wildcats kick off their 2021 college football season against the BYU Cougars on Saturday, Sept. 4.
After a disastrous 0-5 season in 2020, the Wildcats get a date with the Cougars, who went 11-1 just one year ago.
In a Week 1 college football matchup that appears quite lopsided on paper, oddsmakers at DraftKings opened Arizona as an 11-point underdog for this game, while BetMGM was a tick higher at +11.5 for the Wildcats.
Interestingly, bettors have shown more interest in BYU thus far, evidenced by the 71% of spread tickets have landed on the Cougars as of the time of writing.
With lopsided betting action backing the road favorite, Arizona vs. BYU odds have pushed to a consensus of Cougars of -12, with some shops, like DraftKings, even up to -12.5.

Arizona Wildcats Betting Trends, Futures
Arizona was winless straight up in 2020 and finished the COVID-shortened campaign at 1-4 against the spread (ATS).
In fact, the Wildcats have not produced a winning season for spread bettors since 2018-19, when the team wound up with a 7-5 ATS record.
However, Arizona has been a solid performer as a double-digit underdog (like it is on Saturday against BYU).
