The final event of the PGA TOUR FedEx Cup Playoff is here with a champion waiting to be crowned and a $15 million top prize up for grabs at the TOUR Championship at East Lake Golf Club.

For those golf fans just getting into betting this season, this week will be a different look than past tournaments. It’s a no-cut field of just the top-30 players in the FedEx Cup standings. It will be a staggered scoring start with top-ranked player Patrick Cantlay starting on top at 10-under par all the way down to Erik Van Rooyen at even par.

That makes wagering a little harder to figure out. The winner won’t necessarily be the player who was the best this week. That player needs to also catch up on the starting strokes — or in Cantlay’s case, be at least two strokes better than everyone else.

Even with the lead, Cantlay isn’t the betting favorite. That honor belongs to — who else? — Jon Rahm at +350. Rahm will begin the tournament four strokes back of Cantlay at 6-under. Cantlay is right behind on the oddsboard at +400.

Bryson DeChambeau finished behind Cantlay at the BMW Championship following an epic playoff, and he starts there on the oddsboard this week at +550. He’ll be three strokes back at -7 when play begins Thursday.

Tony Finau starts in second place two strokes back at -8 and is +700 to win the tournament.

Those are the only four golfers in single-digits this week.

Justin Thomas leads the double-digit golfers at +1400, just ahead of Jordan Spieth at +1800. Both players begin 4-under.

Despite beginning alone in fifth to start, Cameron Smith is 10th on the oddsboard at +2800. He trails Dustin Johnson (+2000), Rory McIlroy (+2500) and Xander Schauffele (+2800).

As tee-off gets closer on Thursday, other markets will open up. That likely includes the winner without starting strokes, which will see odds more similar to what we’re used to, although the format still could make that trickier to follow.

Johnson is the defending TOUR Championship and FedEx Cup winner with a winning score of 21-under. He started that tournament on top at 10-under.
