World Series odds for 2021 have been posted since the Los Angeles Dodgers took home the 2020 crown, but the real season begins for investors when win totals drop.

There are plenty of free agents and rules discussions still in play. MLB will keep seven-inning doubleheaders and a runner on second base to start each extra-inning frame.
After a proposal to start the season late, a spring training start of Feb. 17 and Opening Day is on tap for April 1. There are a number of free agents still looking for rosters, but the Dodgers signing of Trevor Bauer was the biggest domino left.

Count me in on everything Toronto for the 2021 season. There aren’t many teams in MLB that have made it clear they are buyers entering this season. Under general manager Ross Atkins, the Blue Jays have developed a deep farm system while current MLB talent continues to mature.
ZiPS projects Toronto to have three of the top 40 players in WAR and none of those names are Vlad Guerrero Jr. Teoscar Hernandez has been projected at the cleanup spot and makes for a sneaky play in the prop market to lead MLB in home runs.
Starting pitching will continue to be an area of concern, while the addition of Kirby Yates to the bullpen could have payoff with a return to 2019 form. One of the blue chip pieces in the farm system is Nate Pearson, ranked fifth in Keith Law’s 2021 MLB prospects. The rest of the American League East may play out similarly to 2020, with the Orioles and Red Sox at the bottom.
The Blue Jays should be buyers at the trade deadline and have the prospects to satisfy a market full of teams that will be looking to sell.
