The Home Run Derby isn’t the only time this week bettors can take advantage of the friendly hitter conditions at Coors Field for the MLB All-Star Game.
PointsBet has released player props for players to hit a home run during Tuesday night’s game between the American and National League.
To no one’s surprise, Shohei Ohtani (+425) is the betting favorite with two AL teammates right behind him in Aaron Judge (+525) and Vladimir Guerrero Jr (+550). All three could get a crack at NL starter Max Scherzer in the first inning with Ohtani leading off, Guerrero Jr. hitting second and Judge batting cleanup.
Fernando Tatis Jr. has the best odds among NL players at +600. Tatis leads his league in homers with 28 and trails only Ohtani (33) for the most in all of baseball.
Left-handed hitters take up three of the next four spots on the oddsboard. Rafael Devers, who is hitting fifth for the AL, is +725, just ahead of Max Muncy, who hits second for the NL and is +775. Reds outfielder Jesse Winker is +900, tied with AL No. 3 hitter Xander Bogaerts.
Of course home runs are expected in the elevation at Coors Field, where the total has been pushed up to 11 at most sportsbooks. That would make it the highest total for an All-Star Game since at least 2005.
However, in the last 16 All-Star Games, just four have gone over.
Bettors wanting to root for excitement but avoid the high total can look to the player prop market instead.
