2021 BMW Championship Betting Odds: Bryson DeChambeau Favored Slightly Over Patrick Cantlay

It’s looking like a two-horse race entering the final round of the BMW Championship, where Bryson DeChambeau and Patrick Cantlay will enter Sunday at 21-under.

At BetMGM, DeChambeau is a slight favorite over Cantlay after a roller-coaster day for the 2020 U.S. Open champion.

After just missing out on a 59 on Friday, DeChambeau started Saturday by going 5-under through the first five holes for the second straight day. He had a five-shot lead at one point at 23-under, before encountering some turbulence on the back nine that saw Cantlay make a huge run.

Cantlay started his third round by going 3-under through his first three holes, but he was unable to keep things going on the front nine like DeChambeau until the 11th hole. Cantlay went birdie-birdie-birdie while DeChambeau struggled to tie for the lead.

DeChambeau was at -165 during the middle of his round on Saturday at 23-under, but his second shot on the par-5 12th went in the water, causing him to bogey. Both Cantlay and Rahm notched a birdie on the hole, putting them within two and three strokes of the lead. Once DeChambeau’s ball hit the water, he went to +120.

Then on the 189-yard, par-3 13th, the TOUR’s longest driver left his tee shot short and wet. DeChambeau double-bogeyed the hole, while Cantlay delivered a huge birdie putt that gave him the outright lead.

Cantlay became the tournament favorite after his third straight birdie at +175, while DeChambeau fell to +220.

DeChambeau stayed dry the rest of the round, but he bogeyed the par-3 17th before Cantlay also dropped a shot on No. 18.

Everyone is playing for an advantage heading into next week’s TOUR Championship at East Lake Country Club, which is just outside of Atlanta. Whoever enters in first place in the FedEx Cup standings will have a big advantage entering next week.

Whoever leads the standings will start with a two-stroke advantage at 10-under, with the scores descending depending on seeding.
