Paige Bueckers & Caitlin Clark Scoring Prop: Freshman Stars Expected to Shine in UConn vs. Iowa Showdown

Two of the best players in the country share center stage Saturday when Caitlin Clark’s Iowa Hawkeyes meet Paige Buecker’s UConn Huskies in the women’s NCAA Tournament.

This matchup between the freshman stars has been highly anticipated at the tournament. Clark leads the nation in scoring, while Bueckers is considered one of the best overall players in the country. Both are semifinalists for the Naismith Women’s College Player of the Year award.

PointsBet posted a player prop for both Clark and Bueckers’ scoring output for the showdown. Clark has the higher total at 26.5 points; Bueckers comes in at 20.5 points. Clark’s under is juiced to -125, with the over at -105 on the number.

Clark is coming off a 35-point performance in the second round versus Kentucky, when she outscored the Wildcats by herself in the first half. Clark, whose season high is 39 points, is averaging 26.6 points per game. She’s scored at least 27 points on 16 occasions in 28 games this season, carrying the load as one of three Hawkeyes averaging double figures in scoring.

Bueckers is part of a more balanced Huskies’ offense, which features four players averaging at least 10 points. She does lead the team with 19.9 points per game, including a 20-point effort in the second round against Syracuse.

Bueckers has topped 20 points nine different times this year, and scored 19 or 20 points six other times.

UConn is a 15-point favorite as of Friday night, with the total sitting at 155.5 points.
