Titans Super Bowl Odds Shift After Julio Jones Trade

With the Tennessee Titans acquiring Atlanta Falcons all-time leading receiver Julio Jones, Super Bowl moves were adjusted across sportsbooks.

In some instances, the movement was significant.

While PointsBet only moved the Titans down to 30-1 from 35-1, BetMGM moved Tennessee all the way to 25-1 from 40-1. DraftKings also has the Titans posted at 25-1 to win the Super Bowl.

The Titans opened at 8-1 to acquire Jones when odds were posted on May 24 following his “I’m out of there,” comment to Shannon Sharpe on FS1. They were quickly bet down to 5-1 and were often mentioned in rumors over the last week.

Jones will join A.J. Brown as Ryan Tannehill’s top two targets along with running back Derrick Henry to form what should be one of the top offenses in the league. That, of course, is assuming Jones stays healthy and productive at 32 years old.

Tennessee does have to replace tight end Jonnu Smith and receiver Corey Davis, who each left during free agency. Offensive coordinator Arthur Smith coincidentally took the head coaching job for the Falcons this offseason.

In addition to the Super Bowl market, BetMGM moved the Titans to +105 from +110 to win the AFC South. Before the trade, Tennessee was 22-1 to win the AFC. Now they’re in at 12-1.

Meanwhile, Atlanta dropped further down the board. Previously, the Falcons were 80-1 to win the Super Bowl. Without Jones, they’ve dropped to 100-1.

The move clears the way for Calvin Ridley to be the team’s top receiver and should also open up targets for No. 4 overall pick in the NFL Draft, tight end Kyle Pitts.

With Tom Brady and the entire Buccaneers offense returning, the NFC South has now seen significant change with the Jones trade and Drew Brees retiring.
