In general, Sunday’s NFL Week 14 games will likely dodge the late-season inclement weather bullet, unlike Saturday’s college football slate that saw plenty of windy, cold weather, including brutal snowy conditions for the Boise State vs. Wyoming contest.
Still, there a handful of games forecasted to see breezes around the 10-mph mark, which is when wind strength historically affects NFL scoring.
Since 2003, NFL games played in average winds of at least double-digits have featured less-than-expected scoring in terms of betting market performance, with unders 515-415-10 (55.4%) according to our Bet Labs software.
Strong winds can affect passing accuracy and also hurt kicking games, making it more difficult for offenses to connect on explosive plays through the air and tack on field goals and extra points in these conditions.
So before you place your NFL bets or set your fantasy football lineups, be sure to know these three games could see winds of at least 10 mph.
