Respected bettors had already taken a position on the Baltimore Ravens vs. Las Vegas Raiders over/under, but apparently that wasn’t enough.

In the hours ahead of Monday Night Football’s 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff, wiseguys jumped on the Ravens vs. Raiders spread, forcing a market-moving adjustment from sportsbooks across the odds board.

Let’s waste no time and jump right into the Monday Night Football side that sharps just steamed.

Ravens vs. Raiders Pick

Steam refers to sudden and uniform line movement across the entire betting market, and is usually the result of respected bettors with the resources to move odds getting down on the same side at multiple sportsbooks, all at once.

As recently as Monday afternoon the Ravens vs. Raiders spread sat at Baltimore -4, but apparently the wiseguys thought that number was too big.

Raiders steam hit the market shortly before 3 p.m. ET on Monday, driving this price off +4 and down to a +3.5 at most shops.

While there’s no way to tell exactly why big bettors are so bullish on the Raiders tonight, the Ravens’ injury woes could be at least part of the reason.

Baltimore has already lost two key running backs — J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards — for the season to torn ACLs, with starting cornerback Marcus Peters suffering the same unfortunate fate.

Starting defensive end Derek Wolfe will also miss tonight’s game with a back injury, while other starting cornerback Jimmy Smith is questionable with an ankle injury as well.

No matter what the actual reason, with just a couple hours until kickoff it’s clear that professionals liked what they saw with Las Vegas +4 and jumped at the opportunity to grab it.
