Is Jordan Spieth back? It’s hard to declare that until he actually wins again. Bettors are hoping that happens this week at the Genesis Invitational.

According to data released by BetMGM, only Dustin Johnson has taken more bets for this week’s tournament than Spieth. Spieth represents the second-biggest liability for the sportsbook at +3300. He’s the sixth-most bet player at PointsBet.

Since missing the cut at January’s Farmer’s Open, Spieth has turned in back-to-back top-five finishes at the Waste Management Phoenix Open and the AT&T Pro-Am at Pebble Beach. He hasn’t closed either 54-hole lead, but his recent form is better than we’ve seen from him in some time.

Johnson has only played in two official events since winning the Masters in November, but bettors haven’t forgotten about the +550 favorite. He has the most bets at BetMGM and the second-most bets at PointsBet. He’s coming off a win two weeks ago at the Saudi International and owns a victory here in 2017.

The biggest liability for BetMGM belongs to +8000 longshot Marc Leishman, who also has solid results at the Genesis, including a T4 in 2019. The book would owe one bettor over $49,000 should he win, the largest payout on any golfer this week at time of publish.

Meanwhile, California kid Collin Morikawa is seeing a ton of attention at PointsBet. The 2020 PGA Championship winner has attracted the most bets and second-most dollars at PointsBet. Only Bryson DeChambeau has taken more money wagered to win than Morikawa.

The longshot bettors are taking at PointsBet is Max Homa (+6000). He has taken the third-most action in terms of money in the entire field.
