No. 2 Essential Quality won the 2021 Belmont Stakes at odds of 6-5, meaning a $10 win-bet returned $12. No. 4 Hot Rod Charlie (9-2) finished in second place, which meant the correct exacta combination was 2-4. A $2 exacta paid out $15.
In third place was No. 3 Rombauer, who went off at 5-1 odds. The correct trifecta combination was 2-4-3 and a $0.50 trifecta returned $10.85.
